Internship placements can link students in MCCC career and transfer programs (see degree and certificate Program listings) to career opportunities through practical, related work experience before they graduate; and internships, in some cases, can qualify for academic credit. (Internships for credit are granted by the applicable academic department, not Career Services.)
Company participation in these programs can help reduce recruiting and training costs as well as provide a continuous source of candidates. Please contact Career Services staff (609-570-3399 or careers@mccc.edu) for more information about internship requirements. NOTE to "for profit" private sector employers who are not paying interns: The Fair Labor Standards Act has set criteria to determine whether an internship is truly a training program or just another form of employment and must be paid. Please see here.
