Small Business Management Certificate Program

Mercer County Community College presents a Small Business Management Certificate Program designed for small business owners as well as for those planning to start a business. This series of courses will take you through the steps required to create a winning business plan and guide your business idea into a sucessful reality. The courses can be taken in any order. Individual courses may be taken on a non-certificate basis.

Self Employment Assistance Program (SEA)

What is the SEA Program?

  • An intensive 60-hour training program taught over 6 weeks for anyone who wants to start their own small business
  • A daytime training program taught by experienced professionals in their respective subject areas

  • Pre Business Workshop
  • Writing a successful Business Plan
  • Marketing strategies
  • Taxes for Small Businesses
  • Record Keeping for Small Businesses
  • Legal Information

What is the Cost?
  • Tuition and fees are $900, which includes a workbook and an extensive binder of handouts to assist you in creating your business plan
  • Free if you are on unemployment and qualify

How do I Enroll?
  • If unemployed, meet with a counselor at your local NJ One-Stop Career Center to obtain an application and attend an orientation session or call 609-989-6827
  • To enroll directly if you're not unemployed or for information about the curriculum or scheduling, contact Michael Glass, Ed.D. at 609-570-3530 or glassm@mccc.edu
  • Orientation workshops are held the first Wednesday of each month at the Conference Center at Mercer.
