The Liberal Arts Division is comprised of courses in a variety of subject areas including English Composition and literature, humanities, world languages, social sciences such as education, history, psychology, sociology, philosophy, the fine arts, visual arts, and communication. In addition to the variety of course work available in the Liberal Arts division, there are multiple degree options to choose from. Most students choose a traditional, interdisciplinary degree in Liberal Arts to prepare for transfer to a four-year institution and further specialization. This degree option provides the foundation necessary to continue studies in a variety of majors beyond Mercer. Other degree options include education, photography, theater, communication -- new media, and television production -- just to name a few.
From these pages, you can access complete information about the various degree options and required courses. Whatever your academic plans, it is imperative that you see an advisor (refer to contact information for all Liberal Arts faculty). All full-time faculty in the Liberal Arts division can assist you with academic advisement. Additionally, majors such as education, photography, or television production have program coordinators who can provide you with specific information about the profession, the degree, transferring, and graduation requirements.
An academic plan within the Liberal Arts can put you on the path for academic and career success. We are here to help you wherever you are in your academic journey.
