ABOUT CTEP
Mercer County Community College (MCCC) received funding from the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), for the "Career and Technical Education Partnership Grant" (CTEP) in September 2010. Through this four-year grant, MCCC will collaborate with statewide partners in business, industry, higher education, secondary education and labor & workforce development to enhance career and technical education programs in the two clusters - Business Management and Administration, and Finance.
The CTEP grant is a national initiative supported by NJDOE, OCTE and the U.S. Department of Education, to develop a new vision for Career and Technical Education (CTE) that responds to 21st century occupational challenges. In developing this new vision, MCCC and the OCTE has partnered with the South Regional Education Board (SREB) to implement high profile and very rigorous project-based Programs of Study (POS) that aligns with NJ State Core Curriculum Standards. These POS represent the most recent federal effort to better align high school and postsecondary education with the demands of the changing global economy and provide a more coherent pathway for youth as they move toward adulthood.
