The Oracle SQL Programming and Database Design Specialist micro-credential equips students with the skills needed for entry-level positions as a database developer/programmer. Students learn to design a database and program using a live Oracle server with curriculum provided by the Oracle Corporation -- enhancing employability and allowing students to update their technological skills.
Upon completion, students are eligible for and encouraged to take the Level I Developer certification examinations:
* Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL
exam number 1Z0-144
* Oracle Database: Advanced PL/SQL
exam number 1Z0-148 (PL/SQL is prerequisite)
Successful completion of credits from this Certificate of Achievement can be applied toward the Database Administration certificate and Computer Information Systems degree programs.
Admission to the program requires readiness for college-level English and Math and approval from the program coordinator. Students may receive credit for previous training in a skills area by applying for credit by examination, credit by experience, and/or transfer credit as evaluated and approved by the program coordinator.
