Women's Sofball Team Has
Rebuilding Season as Club Team

6/13/03

The Women's Softball Team played as a club team this year under new Head Coach Kelly McKenna.  According to MCCC Athletic Director John Simone, this was a rebuilding year for the Vikings, which completed their regular season schedule, but did not compete in the post-season.

With only one returning sophomore, infielder Laura Stackhouse, the player roster was filled in with 16 campus recruits.  They gave it a solid effort, as the team ended the season with a 4-11 record, and showed a level of motivation and talent that should serve it well next year, when the decision to return to intercollegiate competition is made.

In addition to Stackhouse, key players on the Mercer squad included Lisa Coyle, Jamie Fascella, Jen Woodruff, Christina Gutch, Tiffany Heller, Regina Brown, Theresa Hoffman and Aurora Mahon.
