Men's and Women's Soccer Teams to Play in
Region 19 Semi-Finals at Home Oct. 25 and 26

West Windsor, N.J. - The NJCAA Region 19 semi-final round in soccer is coming to the soccer stadium at Mercer County Community College. The men's team takes on Essex Community College on Monday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. Under new head coach Larry Povia, Mercer is the no. 1 seed, having earned a 5-0 record in the region and an overall record of 10-3. The Vikings defeated Essex 2-1 in their regular season match-up Oct. 1. The game winner will advance to the Region 19 final, to be played at NJIT on Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. against the other semi-final winner (either Burlington or Del Tech-Stanton).

In women's soccer action, the Vikings are seeded no. 2 and will face Sussex CC in the Region 19 semi-final on Oct. 26 at 4 p.m., also at the MCCC stadium. Their region record is 5-1-1. (Their overall record is 6-7-1.) In a regular season contest on Oct. 9, the women played Sussex to a 2-2 tie. The semi-final winner advances to the final to face either Ocean or Brookdale at NJIT on Oct. 30 at 9:30 a.m.
