MCCC Men's
Soccer Coach Pat Snyder Resigns;
Interim Head Coach Announced
2/14/12
West
Windsor, N.J. -- Patrick Snyder, the head coach for men's
soccer at Mercer County Community College, has resigned, according
to MCCC Athletics Director John Simone. Snyder, who just completed
his first season with the Vikings, has accepted a position
to coach at New Jersey City University.
Snyder, a former assistant coach and player at Mercer, compiled
an 11-7-1 record during the fall season. He led the Vikings
to the Region 19 championship game, where they lost in a close
contest with Burlington County College. Three of Snyder's
players were named to the Region 19 top five list, including
no. 1 Jonni Ventura, no. 3 Sascha Haecker and no. 5 Sheldon
Parkinson.
Simone has announced that Widmarc Dalce, an assistant coach
for the past two years, will serve as interim head coach.
Dalce is an alumnus of the Vikings' 1996 national championship
team. He has served as an assistant coach for women's soccer
at Princeton University and is the former head coach for boys
soccer at Allentown High School.
Said Simone, "We wish Pat well and look forward to Widmarc
serving as interim coach during the off-season. He is highly
skilled athlete with a strong coaching background."
