Summers
was the standout goalie on the MCCC women's soccer team for two years,
which this year had its best record since 1989 and fell just one game
short of the national tournament. Summers has been recruited to play soccer
at East Stroudsburg University in the fall. She was Mercer's Woman of
the Year as part of the Garden State Athletic Association's National Girls
and Women in Sports Day. She served as secretary for the Student Government
Association and participated in many community service projects. She was
the student representative on the MCCC Foundation, and has been selected
as alumni representative on the 2009-2010 MCCC Board of Trustees. Summers'
goal is to be a middle school guidance counselor.
Zegarski was a significant contributor on the men's baseball team, starting
at short stop for two seasons. In his first year, the Vikings earned a
34-13 record and captured the Region 19 title; this year's squad had a
27-14 record and captured the Garden State Athletic Conference Championship.
Zegarski graduates from Mercer with his AS degree in Exercise Science
and will continue his education at The College of New Jersey.
Brophy graduates from Mercer with an AA in Liberal Arts and will continue
her education at Rutgers University in the fall. She was the no. 4 player
on the women's tennis team for two seasons. This year's squad earned a
4-3 record in the region and placed fifth at the NJCAA tournament in Phoenix,
AZ, in May.
