Men's Tennis Team Reaches
Regional Finals

What the Men's Tennis Team lacked in experience – all members were first-year players – it made up for in athleticism and enthusiasm.  Finishing the season with a 4-3 record, the Vikings performed especially well at the Region 19 tournament, as all six singles and the first doubles team reached the finals.  Dan Hammer (no. 5) and Richie Arenas (no. 6) won their finals matches.

The team roster also included Gerry Aparicio (no. 1), Rodolfo Scamilla (no. 2), Sean Patrick (no. 3), Ryan Shearer (no. 4), Estuardo Godoy, (no. 7), and Walid Hassan (no. 8).  Aparicio, Godoy, Arenas and Hassan were also members of the men’s soccer team, which finished second in the nation in 2002.  Head coach was Stan Dlugosz with assistance from Ralph Bencivengo.
