West
Windsor, N.J. -- Steinert graduate Angela Marinos is making
a major impact in her freshman year on the softball team at
Mercer County Community College. The Hamilton native was ranked
first in batting averages last week in National Junior College
Athletic Association (NJCAA) Div. II, batting .650 with 26
hits in 40 at bats. She plays both third base and catcher.
Based
on this past weekend's action, Marinos now stands at no. 2
in the NJCAA rankings, batting .541 with 33 hits in 61 at
bats. Her totals to date include 3 home runs, 9 doubles, 3
triples, and 21 RBIs.
Says MCCC
Head Coach Ryan Zegarski, "Angela has been the most consistent
hitter in our line-up since day one of the season." Mercer's
current record is 13-5.
The Vikings
face Burlington in a home doubleheader on April 5.
