West Windsor, N.J. -- The post-season for the MCCC Vikings is still in play. In women's tennis action, the Vikings are currently in second place in the NJCAA National Tournament at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY. The finals will be played tomorrow.

The men's soccer team, under head coach Patrick Snyder, heads to the Region 19 final this Sunday, Oct. 30. The Vikings (11-6-1) advance following their 3-2 win against Del Tech Stanton on Tuesday. Goals were scored by Ben Asor (on an assist from Jonni Ventura), Ventura (on an assist from Precious Iloka), and Iloka (on an assist from Ventura). The Vikings will face Burlington CC at Ocean County College at 11 a.m.

The Vikings women, under head coach Michelle Ogborn-Haywood, bowed out of the soccer post-season with their heads held high in a 1-0 semifinal loss to no. 1-ranked Burlington. The women beat Morris 2-1 last Saturday to advance to the semis and are proud of their mid-season turnaround, finishing 7-12-1 after opening with a 1-8-1 record.

The women's cross country team took second place in the Region 19 championships held on Saturday. The performances of freshmen runners Erika Manley (5th place), Sierra Downs (7th place), Jaqueline Goncalves (9th place) and Anajae Register (10th place) helped Mercer to its strong finish in what marks the first time the Vikings have competed as a scoring team in over 20 years. All four runners earned All Region Division I Honors and will advance to the NJCAA national tournament, commencing Nov. 12 at New Mexico Junior College.
