Two MCCC Softball Players
Named All-Americans

The
MCCC softball team, which set a school record with 38 wins this
season en route to the NJCAA Division II World Series, can now lay
claim to two All-Americans as pitcher/infielder Jackie Sasko
and outfielder Ashley Williams have been named to the NJCAA
Division II second team.
Sasko, a sophomore pitcher/infielder from Steinert High School,
was 19-3 with a 0.94 ERA. A third baseman when she was not pitching,
Sasko led the team in hitting with a .475 average and in runs batted
in with 45. She plans on continuing her athletic and academic careers
at a four year school.
Williams, a sophomore outfielder from Hamilton West, is a two time
All-American, having been named to the first team last year. She
hit .441 this year with a team high 25 stolen bases.
Mercer finished the season with a record of 38-8 and reached the
World Series for the first time since 1988.
