Dr. Michael Downey received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Georgetown University and his J.D. from the Law School of the University of Maryland. He is admitted to the state Bar in New Jersey and Maryland and to the Federal District Court.   

He has been teaching philosophy at MCCC since 2001. 

In addition to teaching philosophy and law, Dr. Downey has been an attorney engaged in the private practice of law in the central New Jersey area.
