After sweeping CCBC Essex last Friday to win the Northeast District Championship, the Mercer baseball team left the campus at 7 a.m. Thursday for Enid, Okla., and the NJCAA Division II World Series! Kelsey Theatre is pleased to welcome back the Mercer County-based theater company Shakespeare '70 for “Hamlet” in June. The company presents Shakespeare’s epic tale about the Prince of Denmark, considered by many to be Shakespeare’s best play, on Fridays, June 3 and 10 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 4 and 11 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 5 and 12 at 2 p.m. Read more here.
Students in the HRIM Breakfast Class invites the college to join them for the most important meal of the day! Breakfast will be served Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday through June 2 and Monday through Wednesday, June 6 to 8. Breakfast pricing begins at just $3. Guests are requested to arrive between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.
A Mercer record 1,188 students received their college degrees and certificates May 19 during the 49th annual commencement ceremony, and were sent to the next step in their careers with words of encouragement, praise, and inspiration. High-achieving graduates took center stage during MCCC’s Honors Convocation held at Kelsey Theatre prior to Commencement on May 19. Administrators and faculty members presented distinguished students with certificates and scholarships in recognition of academic excellence as proud family members looked on. Read more here. In capstone projects for their Ad Design III class, Mercer student graphic artists took on a project with global reach. Six student design teams created marketing campaigns for FOR GRANTED.ORG, a nonprofit organization committed to improving lives in underserved communities around the world. Read more here.

The power and promise of the DREAM program at MCCC was on display as DREAM students took on leadership roles at the “Dare to Dream Student Leadership Conference,” sponsored by The New Jersey Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. Read more here.
The MCCC men’s tennis team is back on New Jersey soil with a second place trophy in hand. After winning the Region 19 championship on May 7, the Vikings advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division III national tournament, which was held May 16 to 20 in Plano, Texas. The Vikings earned the points they needed to finish a solid second, but the accomplishments of two players earned them a place at the top. At no. 1 singles, MCCC’s Andres Jacome is the 2016 national champ, while he and partner Brandon Davis are champs at no. 1 doubles. Read more here.
Through May 31: Kelsey Review Submissions. Kelsey Review, an online journal that showcases the work of area creative writers and artists, is accepting submissions through May 31. See the details here.
Through June 11: Communication Professor Dylan Wolfe featured in art show. Communication Professor Dylan Wolfe, director of The Gallery at Mercer, will have work on display at Artworks, Trenton's downtown visual arts center located at 19 Everett Alley, through June 11. The exhibit, "Trashed," is presented in cooperation with TerraCycle, a Trenton-based recycling company. The juried exhibition features work based on the concept of "upcycling." Read more here.
