Kelsey Theatre will offer something for everyone in its four theatrical offerings this summer. There’s a show for family audiences, one for classic rock music fans, one for patrons who enjoy big Broadway musicals, and one for those who just plain love theater and the actors who make it happen. Nearly 200 prospective students and their parents attended last week's "Explore Mercer!" open house in the MCCC Student Center. Soon-to-be high school graduates from school districts across Mercer County attended the event. More than 100 attendees completed their application to Mercer. See the Facebook photos here.
MCCC's men's and women's cross country teams both qualified for the regional tournament this season, while parlaying their athletic experience into success in the classroom in this latest installment of a series of videos on student success at Mercer. See the video here.
The MCCC men's tennis team continues to impress, currently ranked 5th in the nation by the NJCAA in the Division III poll. In this video, see Mercer's first doubles team, Brandon Davis and Andres Jacome, playing for match point and defeating Division I opponent Harford (MD).
April 24: Deadline for proposals for MCCC's Fall 2016 IPIC Conference. The "Engaging Learners in the 21st Century" conference takes place on
Wednesday, Aug. 24. The keynote address will be presented by Eddie S. Glaude, Jr. For more details and to submit your proposal, click here.
Through April 28: Exercise Classes. Staff and faculty are invited to join students for yoga and Zumba classes. Evening yoga is Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in PE225 and Wednesday yoga is from noon to 1 p.m. in the gym. Zumba classes are on Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. in the gym.
April 30 - May 1: African Violet Show. The Garden State African Violet Club hosts its 65th Annual Show and Sale at MCCC Saturday, April 30, noon to 4 p.m., and Sunday, May 1, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.,
in the WWC Student Center.
Workshops with the experts will be held both days. Proceeds benefit MCCC Horticulture students. More about the show here.
Through April 30: "Breath of Fire" pottery show featuring MCCC Art Professor Michael Welliver continues at Ellarslie, the Trenton City Museum. More here.
Through May 3: Student Art Exhibition. The annual “Visual Arts Student Exhibition” is on display. For gallery hours and more, click here.
Through May 5: Student Restaurant Serving Wednesday & Thursday Dinners. Tickets are on sale at the Bursar’s Office (SC256) and must be purchased in advance. See sample menu at www.mccc.edu/hrim. Wednesday seating, 5:15 to 5:45 p.m.; Thursday seating, 5:45 to 6:15 p.m. Maximum party size is six guests. Dining will conclude by 7:30 p.m. Tickets are non-refundable and only valid for the specified date. Ticket prices are $8 students/$10 staff/$12 guests. Questions? Email benowitf@mccc.edu.
