From Assembly Co-Chairs Latonya Ashford Ligon and Alvyn Haywood: We look forward to seeing you at the college assembly on Thursday, Aug. 22. A light breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria, with the assembly beginning at 10 a.m, and a barbecue lunch in the quad following the assembly. The theme, "Completion Agenda:The Whole Student, 2.0," will move our prior plans into practice. In preparation for what is sure to be an "action packed" morning, you are invited to pre-participate by volunteering or nominating a fellow colleague to serve as chair or co-chair of the next College Assembly, or by sharing your favorite motivational quote. IT Requests: Plan Ahead!
From Susan Bowen, executive director of Information Technology Services: The Information Technology Services Help Desk, located in AD 208, is ready to assist you with your questions or requests for information technology services. This includes computer hardware and software, email, computer classroom labs, administrative systems, telephones and voice mail system. To assist ITS in our planning efforts, please allow the following timeframes prior to when the service is needed:

  • Network/email, telephone, and Colleague accounts for new employees, two weeks.
  • Move or change to existing equipment (computer, printer and telephone), two weeks.
  • Network access (jack activation), one week.
  • Installation of new equipment (computer, printer and telephone, voice/data jack, or software), one month.
  • Installation or modification of a curricular software program used in a computer classroom lab or open access lab request from department chair or program coordinator, two months prior to the start of the semester.

It is helpful to us that these requests come directly to the ITS Help Desk, ext. 4357, or tech-help@mccc.edu, rather than an individual ITS staff member. When a request is made, a Help Desk ticket will be created and an email sent confirming the request.  Request for media services should be received at least two business days in advance. To request the use of equipment or services, the online Request for Facilities form can be found on MLink.
