Reock & Roll Revue returns to Kelsey Theatre for two special dates in August. Their concert, “A Life in Music – Then and Now,” will feature music from the 40-year career of famed Trenton songwriter-guitarist Ernie White. The show will include special appearances by numerous performers, including White himself. Read more here.
There is still time to register for the MO 101/102, Introduction to Blackboard training, with sessions beginning Aug. 3. MO 101/102 is asynchronous online training to provide faculty with the technology skills necessary to use Blackboard as an add-on for a face-to-face course or to teach a previously designed online or hybrid course. Faculty who want to have a Blackboard add-on for a face-to-face course must complete the MO 101/102 training or demonstrate prior, comparable training and experience at a peer institution. The Instructional and Professional Improvement Committee (IPIC) reminds you to register NOW for the Engaging Learners in the 21st Century Conference. This full-day conference will take place Tuesday, Aug. 25 in the Conference Center during pre-class week. The agenda features 17 concurrent workshops, breakfast and lunch, and a keynote address by Dr. Ken Bain, renowned researcher, educator, and author of the best seller What the Best College Teachers Do. Presenters represent multiple institutions throughout the state including Rowan, Montclair, New Jersey City University, and many community colleges.

MCCC's West Windsor Campus will provide free shuttle service for students, faculty, and staff to and from Quaker Bridge Mall four times a day starting Aug. 29, in addition to the shuttle between the West Windsor and Trenton campuses. See details here.

MCCC has been named as the recipient of a $600,000 grant from the National Science Foundation, to be used for scholarships for students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Read more here.
High school seniors now have expanded options for taking courses in the arts at MCCC in partnership with Mercer County Technical Schools. There are multiple benefits, says Jody Gazenbeek-Person, who has worked to coordinate the program with MCTS.

The 2015-2016 season at Kelsey Theatre promises to be one of adventures that span history and continents, with 19 full-length dramas and musical productions and eight shows offered through the Kelsey Kids Series. “Little Women – The Musical” (Pierrot Productions) kicks off the journey Sept. 11 to 20.

Since graduating from Mercer in 2006, Education major John Kobiernicki has been busy as a youth minister at the church in his home town of South Amboy. But he continues to stay active at Mercer, representing the Future Teachers Club and the MCCC chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi National Education Honor Society. Read his story here.
