Photography and Digital Imaging Coordinator Michael Dalton will introduce a screening of the film Finding Vivian Maier and lead a post-screening discussion on Monday, July 14, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Princeton Library, 65 Witherspoon Street. Vivian Maier was a career nanny whose previously unknown cache of 100,000 photographs has earned her a posthumous reputation as one of America’s most accomplished street photographers. In memory of his father, Visual Arts faculty member Lucas Kelly is raising funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through participation in the Warrior Dash. To donate, click here. In addition, he has designed a t-shirt to support the hospital, which is available for sale here.
He made it! Trenton native Jesse Herrera (’05, Liberal Arts) biked 3,400 miles across the country this spring with several goals in mind. He wanted to get a unique interactive experience of America’s amazing sites and people. But he also wanted to give back to his historic hometown by raising money for MCCC. Read more here.

In late June, after they had worked for weeks hand-sculpting and throwing up to a dozen ceramic pieces each and then glazing them, it was time for students to get fired up, quite literally, during an intensive six-week Raku Workshop at Mercer. Read more here.
A member of the first graduating class of MCCC's Funeral Science program has been appointed as superintendent of one of the world's most revered burial places, Arlington National Cemetery. Read the article in The Forum, a publication of the New Jersey Funeral Directors Association, here.
For the first time in many years, Mercer will offer HIS 226 (The History of New Jersey) this fall. According to History Professor Craig Coenen, who is a member of the State 350th Historical Commission, the course commemorates the 350th anniversary of New Jersey's founding as a colony. (A number of other New Jersey colleges will offer a similar course.) The class will focus on the state’s diverse peoples and historical traditions up to the election of N.J.’s first African American U.S. Senator. It will meet Monday and Wednesday from 1:25-2:40 p.m and will be taught by Sue Kozel, a senior MCCC instructor.
