The Horticulture Department is holding a plant sale, with the proceeds to fund the department's Philadelphia Flower Show Display. They are selling:
annuals, such as Alyssum and African Daisies in 8" pots, $1; Cyclamen (tropical houseplant), $1; Ivy Hanging Baskets, $10; Carex flacca 'Blue Zinger' (ornamental grass in 1 gallon pot), $10; Ilex crenata 'Helleri' (Japanese Holly), $20.
Open sale hours are Monday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. For other times by appointment, contact Amy Ricco at riccoa@mccc.edu.
All are invited to the College Assembly on Tuesday, May 19 at 10 a.m. in Kelsey Theatre. At the conclusion of the assembly, the Human Resources Department will host the Annual Employee Recognition Ceremony. Lunch will be served following the ceremony. The Mercer Dance Ensemble, featuring MCCC students and community dancers, presents "Modern Classics" at Kelsey Theatre. Performances will be held Saturday, May 23 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 24 at 2 p.m. Choreographers include faculty members, alumni and current students, who will blend their talents in a performance incorporating a variety of modern and international dance styles as it celebrates the body in motion. With handshakes, hugs and occasional tears, the Trenton Campus celebrated the achievements of students who completed a program of study at MCCC in 2014-15. This year marked the Trenton Campus’s 27th annual Celebration of Academic Achievement May 5. Read more here.
It was a day to recognize the brightest and best from New Jersey’s 19 community colleges during the New Jersey Council of Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa Day at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Trenton May 7. Mercer students Mike Chica and Lauren Stout represented Mercer as members of the New Jersey PTK Academic All-Star team. Read more here.
It's a record year for students in the William Paterson University at Mercer program, with nearly 50 Mercer graduates earning their bachelor's degree from WPU on MCCC's West Windsor Campus. For the third consecutive year, the New Jersey Association of Public Accountants (NJAPA) has made a contribution to student scholarships at Mercer following a successful tax preparer’s seminar hosted by The Conference Center. Read more here.
