Theatre Students Present "Vagina Monologues" This Weekend
The Theatre Program will shine a spotlight on the continuing plague of violence against women during Women’s History Month in March. Theatre and Entertainment Technology students team up to present Eve Ensler’s "The Vagina Monologues" at MCCC’s Trenton Campus tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in Kerney Hall, 102 North Broad Street. Black History Month Events Conclude March 10
MCCC's celebration of Black History Month will conclude with the showing of the final episode of "The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross – A More Perfect Union (1968-2013)" on Monday, March 10, from noon to 1:25 p.m., with a discussion led by Associate Professor of Communications Alvyn Haywood, in SC104 (West Windsor Campus) and in Kerney Hall (Trenton Campus). Transfer, Job Search Workshops March 11 and 13
The Office of Transfer and Career Services will present a Transfer to NJIT workshop on Tuesday, March 11, from noon to 1 p.m. in ET216 and a Job Search Workshop on Thursday, March 13, from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Holocaust Center Hosts "Movies at Noon" March 11, 25
The Holocaust-Genocide Resource Center is hosting "Movies at Noon" during the month of March. March 11 features the film "Defiance," the story of war refugees that become freedom fighters. March 25 brings the film "Sarah's Key," the story of a 10-year-old girl in 1942 France.

Introducing "Spring Into Student Success!" Students
Six students will represent the hundreds of Mercer student scholarship recipients this year during the "Spring Into Student Success!" annual scholarship fundraiser on March 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mercer Oaks. Read their stories here. Discount tickets are still available for faculty and staff: $100 per ticket for an employee and a guest. Donations of high-end silent auction items are welcome. MCCC Horticulture Expo to be held March 14-16
The Horticulture Program and the New Jersey Department of Agriculture will team up to host the New Jersey High School Horticulture Expo for the third consecutive year on Friday, March 14 to Sunday, March 16. Read more here.

Gallery Hosts Mercer Artists 2014; Reception March 13
The talents of 75 Mercer County artists will be on display at The Gallery in the exhibit "Mercer County Artists 2014," which runs from March 11 to April 3. The community is invited to an Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony, on Thursday, March 13 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 5:45 p.m. Read more here.

Space Traveler Greg Olsen to Deliver Lecture March 26
Princeton resident Greg Olsen, entrepreneur, scientist, and the third private citizen to orbit the Earth on the International Space Station (ISS), will present the lecture "From Entrepreneurship to Spaceship" at MCCC at noon on Wednesday, March 26. Read more here.

Donations for Ewing Gas Explosion Victims Accepted Through March 11
Donations are being collected through March 11 for victims of the gas explosion in Ewing this past week. Items being requested include towels, blankets, toiletries, toys, and clothing of all sizes. All items must be new. Donation boxes can be found in the Fitness Center, PE Building, and in Student Activities, and on the Trenton Campus. For questions or additional information, contact Erin Cahill-Wetzel in the Athletics Department at ext. 3741, or by e-mail at cahille@mccc.edu.

"Appear in Mercer Gear" Pinterest Contest Launches March 10
Mercer students are being asked to follow MCCC on Pinterest and to send in their photos in Mercer gear starting Monday, March 10, with a chance to win up to $150 in gift cards. Anyone can submit their photos, but college employees are ineligible for prizes. See the flyer here. Visit the website, with contest guidelines, here. Visit the MCCC Pinterest site here. March 12, April 2 and May 7: HiTOPS Health Services in Trenton. Services include general health screenings, blood pressure checks, health counseling, family planning counseling, and screening for depression and eating disorders. No appointment necessary; valid student ID required. See the flyer here.

March 27: "Spring Into Student Success!" Scholarship Fundraiser. Spread the word to friends and neighbors! Tickets are now on sale for the MCCC Foundation's "Spring Into Student Success!" scholarship fundraiser, to be held Thursday, March 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mercer Oaks. Discount tickets are available for faculty and staff: $100 per ticket for you and a guest. Donations of silent auction items are welcome. Read the event details here.

Through March 31: Student Activities Hosts "Penny Wars." The Student Activities Office is hosting "Penny Wars" through March 31 to benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand and its fight against childhood cancer. Stop by SC111 to pick up a jar and start collecting pennies -- only pennies! Participants can be individuals, a small group (2-9 people), or a large group (10+ people). Whomever collects the most pennies will win a gift card. The small group and large group that collects the most pennies will win a pizza party on April 8 at noon in SC104. March 31 and April 14: "20-Minute Mentor" Brown Bag Lunch Series. "How Do I Give Feedback that Improves Student Writing?" on March 31 and "How Do I Address Teasing and Bullying Behavior in the Classroom?" on April 14. April 1: Spring Job Fair. MCCC will host its annual Spring Job Fair on Tuesday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center on the West Windsor Campus.  (The fair is open to the general public in addition to MCCC students.)  Area employers who would like to set up an employee recruitment table should contact Letrice Thomas in MCCC’s Career and Transfer Services office by emailing thomasl@mccc.edu.

Through April 1: Applications Accepted for MCCC Foundation Scholarships. Graduating students may apply now through April 1; continuing students may apply now through September 15. The scholarship portal can be found on MCCC’s main page and at www.mccc.edu/scholarships.  Click here for a list of scholarships organized by area of study for new, continuing and graduating students. Please note that you may be asked to furnish letters of recommendation as students complete their applications.

Through May 5: Student Restaurant Serving Lunch. The HRIM Applied Kitchen Skills Class will be serving lunch on Mondays now through May 5 (except March 17), from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in ES111. Tickets may be purchased at the door on a first-come, first served basis. In addition, the Food Prep II class will begin serving lunch and dinner on April 2 through April 23. Seating times for these lunches are from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and seating for dinner will be from 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Bursar's Office in late March, subject to availability.

May 10: African American Student Organization Craft Fair. Vendors are being sought for the African American Student Organization craft fair, to be held Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the WWC cafeteria. This is a great opportunity for Mercer students, staff, and community members to showcase their creative talents and sell their wares. Details here. Questions? Through May 13: Yoga and Zumba Classes. Evening yoga with Tracy is held every Monday and Thursday, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., in PE225 from through May 12. (No class March 17 or March 20.) Lunchtime yoga with Helen is held every Wednesday, noon to 1 p.m., in the gym through May 7. (No class March 19.) Zumba is every Tuesday and Thursday, noon to 1 p.m., in the gym through May 13. (No class March 18 and 20.) For more information, call Student Activities at ext. 3435.
