"Left of Central" Gallery Reception Saturday
An opening reception will be held at The Gallery at Mercer for "Left of Central: Later 20th Century Visual Arts in the Capital City." The Gallery is one of five venues to take an historical look at artists' communities in Central New Jersey. The exhibit focuses on 60 artists from the Trenton Artists Workshop Association. MCCC, Fulton Bank Blood Drive Jan. 30
MCCC and Fulton Bank will be sponsoring a blood drive on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in SC104. Schedule your appointment today at www.redcross.org or by calling the Red Cross (800) 733-2767. The code to enroll in the event is MCCCandFulton. African-American History Month Opening Ceremony Feb. 1
MCCC will host an opening ceremony for African-American History Month on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. in Kelsey Theatre, featuring a performance by the Zawadi School of Dance and Drum. Tickets are free and available at the Bursar’s Office on both campuses. See the flyer here.

Breast Cancer Awareness Night Feb. 6
The MCCC Athletic Department and the Mercer chapter of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges are co-sponsoring the college’s fourth annual “Breast Cancer Awareness Night.” The event will take place Thursday, Feb. 6 in the gymnasium in conjunction with the Vikings women’s and men’s basketball games versus Burlington County College. The women’s game starts at 5 p.m. and the men’s game starts at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the night benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Center of the Princeton YWCA.

"The Monster Who Ate My Peas" at Kelsey Feb. 8
Just how far should a picky kid go to avoid eating yucky food? That’s the dilemma for the young hero of “The Monster Who Ate My Peas,” an original musical to be presented by ArtsPower National Touring Theatre at Kelsey Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 and 4 p.m. Read more here.

HiTOPS to Offer Health Services in Trenton Starting Feb. 12
Beginning Feb. 12, HiTOPS will be offering confidential health services on the Trenton Campus. This includes general health screenings, blood pressure checks, health counseling, family planning counseling, and screening for depression and eating disorders. No appointment necessary; valid student ID required. The services will be available Feb. 12, March 12, April 2, and May 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in KC208. On Jan. 20, MCCC’s Trenton Campus applied the messages and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to a modern-day form of slavery in a program entitled "Civil Rights for All: Combating Human Trafficking." Read more here.

Call for College Catalog Updates. The 2014-2015 College Catalog is now in production, with content review and updates being solicited college-wide. Anyone with updates to contribute should contact the Point Person (dean, director, supervisor, coordinator, etc.) for the area involved. That person likely received direct notification for submitting any revisions for their area. For further assistance, contact Brad Kent in Publications at ext. 3772 or kentb@mccc.edu.

Jan. 26: Summer Camps Open House. Camp directors will be on hand to provide overviews and offer tours from noon to 3 p.m. in the Student Center. (Snow date: Sunday, Feb. 2) Read more here.

Feb. 3: Yoga and Zumba Classes Resume. Exercise classes in the West Windsor campus gym resume during the first week of February. Evening yoga with Tracy is held every Monday and Thursday, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., in PE225 from Feb. 3 to May 12. (No class March 17 or March 20.) Lunchtime yoga with Helen will be held every Wednesday, noon to 1 p.m., in the gym from Feb. 5 to May 7. (No class March 19.) Zumba is every Tuesday and Thursday, noon to 1 p.m., in the gym from Feb. 4 to May 13. (No class March 18 and 20.) For more information, call Student Activities at ext. 3435.
