ENG102: Information Literacy Refresher
Using Other Databases
- The principles for obtaining full-text and/or scholarly/peer reviewed articles as well as limiting searches by date range are very similar in other databases. These options should be available at the opening search screen. NOTE: the JSTOR database contains scholarly/peer reviewed information exclusively. Hence, this database has no option to select scholarly/peer reviewed articles.
A Few Comments about MLA Citations
- The principles for obtaining MLA citations is similar in other databases as well. NOTE: for a few databases, the citation information appears at the bottom of the article.
- Though databases do supply MLA formatted citations, it is still the responsibility of you, the user, to confirm that the citations are indeed completely correct. Do not blindly accept citations from databases (or from other web based citation generating tools).
