The Community Education and Training Department provides classes for English
as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE) & High School
Equivalency (HSE). Registration times are October 26, 2015, January 11, 2016 &
April 4, 2016, beginning at 9:00 am. on the Trenton Campus or by phone at (609)
570-3185.
Youth College

The Youth College at the Trenton Campus serves the Youth of
Trenton and includes the following programs:
Educational Talent Search provides personalized services necessary for
educational success beyond middle school and high school. Our services are
designed to improve academic performance, increase student motivation and
facilitate transition from one level to the next.
Project SMILE/GEAR UP consists of 7th and 8th grade students who participate
in a variety of academic programs. Students attend classes on Saturday during the
school year, and Monday through Friday for six weeks during the summer.
Upward Bound is designed to assist high school students in grades nine through
twelve. We offer academic instruction, counseling and cultural enrichment
activities.
Urban Academic Academy (U.A.A.) provides college preparation, guidance
and support for low-income 12th graders who reside in Mercer County. The goal of
the program is to increase the number of students who graduate from high school
and subsequently attend college.
Very Important People (V.I.P.)/Youth Corps helps individuals complete
their high school education and gain valuable community service experience.
Eligible students must have a birth certificate and a social security card (signed).
Each potential student must complete an application in person and be interviewed
by a staff member.
