WHAT: Mercer County Community College is celebrating Black History Month 2025 with a schedule of enriching and interactive events focusing on the significant contributions and accomplishments of African Americans throughout our nation’s history.
WHEN:
Saturday, February 1 – The African Diaspora Museum Exhibit Opening Reception and Ribbon Cutting will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Trenton Hall at the James Kerney Campus.
Tuesday, February 4 - A screening of “Slavery By Another Name” will play at 12:30 p.m. at JKC in Trenton followed by a discussion led by MCCC’s Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. James Whitney III.
Thursday, February 6 – MCCC fashion students and staff will model during a fashion show from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. International cuisine to follow in the WWC Cafeteria.
Wednesday, February 12 - A screening of “Slavery By Another Name” will play at 1:30 p.m. at WWC CM 108 followed by a discussion led by MCCC’s Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. James Whitney III.
Wednesday, February 19 – a panel discussion about African Americans and Labor will take place in Kerney Hall at JKC from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 20 – A panel discussion about Entrepreneurship & Economic Empowerment will take place via zoom at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, February 21 – Relax and enjoy jazz music at the “Keeping Jazz Alive” event at 5:00 p.m. at JKC’s Kerney Hall and cafeteria (there is a $10 cost for this event).
Saturday, February 22 – MCCC fashion students and staff will model during a fashion show from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. International cuisine to follow in JKC’s Trenton Hall.
Wednesday, February 26 – Everyone is welcome to attend Gospelfest: “Let the Praises go up” from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the WWC Kelsey Theatre.

The events will be split between MCCC’s James Kerney Campus (JKC) at 102 N. Broad Street, Trenton, NJ and the West Windsor Campus (WWC) at 1200 Old Trenton Road.
