WEST WINDSOR, NJ – The Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Foundation will host its 33rd Annual Golf Classic for Scholarships on Monday, October 7. The tournament will take place at Trenton Country Club in West Trenton, NJ. Friends and supporters of Mercer Athletics are invited to swing by for the day’s activities including registration and breakfast at 9 a.m., a shotgun start at 10 a.m., and an awards lunch at 2:30 p.m. As in recent past tournaments, Haldeman Auto Group is the event’s lead sponsor.
“We strive to provide the best opportunities for our student athletes to thrive both on and off the field,” said Erica Oliver, Executive Director of the MCCC Foundation. “With the generosity of our dedicated community of supporters, our student athletes benefit from one of the best sports programs in the area.”
MCCC alumni Kevin Kerins (Smires & Associates Real Estate) and Michael Procaccini (Rivertan Risk Management) will take the reigns for their third year as co-chairs. Procaccini played baseball for Mercer and is now a member of the MCCC Foundation Board, and Kerins was both a player and head coach for MCCC Vikings baseball. “When alumni like Kevin and Michael continue to dedicate their time to giving back to the next generation of student athletes, it is a true testament to MCCC and our community,” said Eric Grundman, MCCC Athletic Director. “Their efforts, combined with community support, makes a big difference in the lives and futures of our students.”
The MCCC Vikings have a long history of success in National Junior College Athletic Association’s Region 19 and national tournaments. In 2024, MCCC emerged with a championship season for men’s soccer, a Region 19 championship for men’s baseball, a Garden State Athletic Conference Championship for women’s softball, and, at number 23 in the country, our highest ranking in the NJCAA Division 1 for women’s tennis since becoming a Division 1 member.
The tournament committee continues to welcome corporate sponsorships and monetary donations. More information is available at www.mccc.edu/golf.
