Human Trafficking is Lecture Topic at MCCC on March 12

West Windsor, N.J. – Human trafficking is the next topic of Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC) upcoming Spring 2020 Distinguished Lecture Series. Monica Kristen, Statewide Supervisor of the Dream Free Program and Kim Murphy, who launched the Human Trafficking Ministry at the Edinburg Road Chapel, will lead the talk.

Their presentation will cover a range of counseling opportunities for victims of human trafficking through the Dream Free Program. The talk will be held on Thursday, March 12 in the Communications Building, Room CM109, from noon to 1 p.m.

The Dream Free Program helps individuals at risk of being exploited by human trafficking. The program provides counseling and trauma informed case management for victims within the state of New Jersey.

Kristen is a licensed social worker who received her B.A in Psychology from James Madison University and her M.A in Social Work from Monmouth University.  She provides case management opportunities and counseling to domestic and international human trafficking victims statewide.

Murphy founded the Human Trafficking Ministry at Edinburg road chapel in 2017, and has extensive knowledge of Human Trafficking and victim rights through the local, state and federal law enforcement. She graduated with a B.A in Social Work from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincey, Massachusetts.
