MCCC Stuck at Home Study Tips and Resources

Nichol Killian (Health Professions): Get Up and Move It, Every 50 Minutes

Our attention can only go so far.  If we give our  minds a break after ~50 minutes, it will begin to digest and process the enormous amount of data to which we have just exposed it.

Think of a sponge, if you keep throwing buckets of water on it, the water will saturate the sponge and then just run off.  Give your brain 10 minutes to process and also give your body 10 minutes of movement.  It is too easy to become sedentary both mentally and physically- so move it, move it for success!

Online Resources

In addition to making sure you and your home workspace are ready for success, MCCC’s Library and Tutoring Center are making sure every student has digital access to a huge collection of services.

The Library has a subject-by-subject list of databases perfect for anchoring your next research project or brushing up on some background information.

You can also take advantage of the E-Brary (E-Book Central) and EBSCO digital book collections using your Mercer Login information.

The College’s Tutoring Center is also stepping up its availability, offering sign-ups for one-on-one tutoring session seven days a week.

The staff has also compiled a list of digital offerings, including math notes and videos by Prof. Sharkey and MCCC Tutor Bernard George, an essay review service by email at  essayglance@mccc.edu, and more!
