West Windsor, N.J. – Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC’s) popular youth program, Camp College, is now accepting students for Winter Session and Spring 2021. Virtual classes for students age six to fourteen focus on science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) with staggered start dates from December through May. Each course is taught live through Zoom and provides a project-based learning experience that combines peer learning with creativity.
Offerings range from science and planetary science study, to writing and book publishing, to coding, animation techniques and virtual reality design. And a new e-Sports games-play skill builder was added this session.
“Mercer County Community College wants to ensure that children and teens are at the forefront of the current creative and technology revolution,” said Rosemarie Fiorello, Director of Youth and Special Programs. “We are constantly expanding Science, Tech and Writing courses at Camp College to empower children to be as creative as they can be while teaching skills to use technology wisely,” she said. “Through our virtual platform offerings, children have fun and at the same time get a head start on a real 21st century skill set.”
Two new courses will be introduced this session including Young Authors where students write and publish books and YouTube® FX Masters where kids create Hollywood-style special effects and graphics.
