TRENTON — “Third Thursdays,” a monthly photography presentation offered through Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC’s) James Kerney Campus (JKC) Gallery, will celebrate the photography of Cliff Cooper and Sharon Harris with a virtual artist talk on November 19, 2020 from 7 to 8 p.m. The show, hosted by Michael Chovan-Dalton, Director of the JKC Gallery, will take place on the Zoom conferencing platform. The public is invited and registration is required.
Last month’s Third Thursday event attracted an array of photography students and members of the public. “I was very pleased with just how intimate and engaging our first event turned out to be because you don’t always get that with a virtual event,” Chovan-Dalton remarked. “In some ways it was more engaging than a traditional exhibit because everyone had a front row seat to the artists. I think I will continue to offer a virtual component to every exhibit so that we can reach a wider audience.”
About the Artists
Cliff Cooper, a School of Visual Arts graduate, photographer and artist, will present his works “In A Lucid Dream” where he creates a phenomenon similar to a dream where a photograph is not defined by the obvious parts but “one seemingly small detail that deeply resonates with the viewer, stirring and striking the heart.”
Sharon Harris, whose works have been exhibited at Perkins Center for the Arts, Moorestown, New Jersey, Islip Art Museum in East Islip, New York, Soho Photo Gallery in New York City and the Artseye Gallery in Tucson, Arizona, is an award-winning photographer who creates powerful and surreal images through the use of pinhole photography which is the art of lens-less photography.
