MCCC to Host Golf Classic on Sept. 9 to Benefit Student Athletes

MCCC invites friends and supporters of the college’s student athletes to hit the links on Monday, Sept. 9 for the 28th Annual MCCC Golf Classic for Scholarships. Read more here.

Transfer Workshop on Sept. 10

This fall, the Transfer Services Office will provide free workshops geared towards preparing students for life after Mercer. The first workshop, titled 'How to Transfer,' will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at noon in ET217. For a full list of events, click here.

MCCC to Host 9/11 Ceremony

All are invited to MCCC's annual commemoration of the events of September 11, 2001. MCCC will host the ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. on the West Windsor Campus quad. The guest speaker is Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri. Read more here.

President's Leadership Academy Application Deadline is Sept. 13

Sept. 13 is the application deadline for the 2019-20 President's Leadership Academy (PLA). Aligned with MCCC's strategic planning goal to invest in organizational and professional effectiveness, the objective of the PLA is to recognize, support, encourage, and enhance professional development, growth and leadership. Entreprenurial Master Class Applications Due Sept. 13

Climate Change is the Topic for Sierra Club Lecture Sept. 11

"Where Are We on Climate Change and Energy?" is the topic for the first Sierra Club lecture on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. in SC104. (Pizza is served at 6 p.m., the program begins at 6:30 p.m.) Jeff Tittel, Executive Director of the Sierra Club New Jersey, will give a frank, no-holds-barred assessment on where we are in fighting climate change and preparing for it. He will put a special emphasis on energy, the call for a moratorium on fossil fuels, and barriers to faster progress in renewables. Please RSVP to: Kipatthesierraclub@gmail.com. First Campus Blood Drive of the Year Oct. 2

The first blood drive of the year, sponsored by Medical Laboratory Technology students, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in SC104. The donor eligibility information sheet, as well and the IScreen information (where donors can complete the history questionnaire ahead of time) is available here. In addition, a raffle sponsored by MLT students at the conclustion of the blood drive will award a Wawa to one of the donors. See the flyer here.

All Invited to Poetry, Short Story Reading Oct. 7

If you are an aspiring author or poet, you won't want to miss the MCCC Fiction and Poetry Reading on Monday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. in SC104, sponsored by the West Windsor Learning Center. All members from the campus community and the community at-large are invited to read their original work, or to listen to what others present. Light refreshements will be served. Nursing Program Accreditation Public Meeting Oct. 9

MCCC will host a site review for continuing accreditation of the Nursing program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The public is invited to meet the site visit team and share comments about the program during a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 3-4 p.m. in CM107. 'Kissed & Toothless' Exhibit at JKCG Sept. 10 to Oct. 8; Artist Talk Sept. 18

A unique display of common objects, grouped together to tell a compelling story, will be on display at the James Kerney Campus Gallery (JKCG) in the upcoming exhibit “Kissed & Toothless,” by artist Dominica Paige. The show runs from Sept. 10 to Oct. 8, with an opening reception and artist talk on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. Read more here.

Deer Management is Distinguished Lecture Topic Sept. 17

The impact of white-tailed deer in Mercer County and the new scientific approach to deer management is the upcoming lecture topic at MCCC on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at noon in CM108. The scientific monitoring of the deer population, along with the challenges that it presents on forest health, will be the subject of the lecture hosted by Jennifer Rogers, Mercer County Naturalist, and Jillian Stark, Senior Land Steward of the Mercer County Park Commission. The talk is the first MCCC Distinguished Lecture for the Fall 2019 semester. Read more here.

NJCAA Region 19 Player of the Week: Jamie Ervin

For sophomore Jamie Ervin, the 2019 soccer season couldn’t have started any better. On Sept. 3 Ervin, who starts at forward for the Lady Vikings, earned National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Region 19 Player of the Week. Read more here.
