Last Weekend for 'Noises Off' at Kelsey Theatre
It's the last weekend to catch the quintessential British farce "Noises Off," presented by the award-winning Maurer Productions OnStage. Dedication of Robert L. Pugh Fitness Center Sunday
The college community is invited to the dedication of the Robert L. Pugh Fitness Center on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 2:30 p.m. in the PE Building. The center is being refurbished and renamed in honor of Bob's 45 years of service and dedication to MCCC. To date, $50,000 has been raised for the project. MLK Day to be Marked by Service and Celebration Jan. 21
January 21 will be a day of service and celebration at the James Kerney Campus as the college honors the life and legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King. Community service activities will begin in the morning, followed by a ceremony starting at 1 p.m. in Kerney Hall. Read more here.

Singers Sought for Kelsey Choir; Meeting Jan. 22
Interested in joining Kelsey Theatre's premiere a cappella and pit-singing group? A meeting and singing session will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22 from 8 to 10 p.m. in CM164. We are looking for all voice parts to join (soprano, alto, tenor, bass, and vocal percussionist). Rehearsals will be once a week in the evenings from 7 to 10 p.m.. 'Zorro,' Featuring Sounds of Gipsy Kings, Opens at Kelsey Theatre Jan. 25
In a production that combines a compelling narrative with the red-hot music of the Gipsy Kings, PinnWorth Productions presents "Zorro" at Kelsey Theare Jan. 25 to Feb. 3. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance. This theater spectacular is a vivid retelling of the 19th century tale of Diego de la Vega. Read more here.

JKCG Presents Exhibit ‘Iron and Water’ Jan. 24 to Feb. 21; Artist Talk Jan. 30
MCCC’s James Kerney Campus Gallery (JKCG) presents “Iron and Water,” an exhibit that features the work of Trenton-based photographer C.a. Shofed. Shofed's images show the remnants and the artifacts of the great industrial era that helped build the industrial American city, including sites have been abandoned, or repurposed for a new economy only to be abandoned again.The show runs from Thursday, Jan. 24 through Thursday, Feb. 21. A community reception and artist talk take place Wednesday, Jan. 30, 5 to 7 p.m. The talk begins at 6 p.m. Read more here.

Families Invited to Summer Camps Open House Jan. 27
MCCC invites families to a Summer Camps Open House on Sunday, Jan. 27, noon to 3 p.m., in the Student Center. (Snow date: Sunday, Feb. 3.) Camp directors will be on hand to provide overviews of all camp programs and answer questions about scheduling, staffing and pricing. Tours of MCCC's extensive facilities will be available, including computer labs, Olympic-size swimming pool, sports fields, tennis courts, and cafeteria. More than 70 options are available for fun and enrichment during Summer 2019. The season begins June 17 and runs through August 16. Read more here.

WWC Exhibit ‘Saturated Geometry’ Jan. 28 to March 7; Reception Feb. 6
The Gallery at MCCC will showcase works by five artists in its upcoming group exhibit "Saturated Geometry." The show runs from Monday, Jan. 28 to Thursday, Mar. 7. The community is invited to a reception on Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The artists will present talks preceding the community reception on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at noon. According to Lucas Kelly, the show’s curator, the works of these artists offer their interpretations of formal geometric abstraction and color. Read more here.

William Paterson to Host Webinar on New M.A. in Higer Ed Admin Jan. 30
Join Dr. James Alford, Program Director of the Department of Educational Leadership and Professional Studies at William Paterson University (WPU) and a representative from Graduate Admissions for a webinar Wednesday, Jan. 31 from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. to learn more about the university's M.A. in Higher Education Administration. MCCC, Fulton Bank to Hold Red Cross Blood Drive Jan. 31
MCCC) and Fulton Bank of New Jersey are partnering to host an American Red Cross Blood Drive. The drive will take place Thursday, Jan. 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Center on the college's West Windsor campus, room 104. Appointments are preferred. 'Think Pink' for Breast Cancer Awareness Jan. 31
The Athletics Department and AAWCC-Mercer are teaming up again to co-sponsor the 9th Annual Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Thursday, Jan. 31 in the PE Building. The event includes a great night of basketball, as the women's team takes on Rowan at Gloucester at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s game against Gloucester at 7 p.m. Raffle tickets will be sold. Prizes donated by local businesses include tickets to a Princeton men's and women's basketball game, gift certificates to Carella's Shoes and Chocolates, Delorenzo's, Porfirio's and many more. The Athletics Department will also be selling “Think Pink” t-shirts. Event proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Resource Center of the YWCA-Princeton, a volunteer organization supporting those affected by breast cancer. So come out, wear pink, and help support Vikings basketball and a great cause on Jan. 31!

New Look, New Day for M-Newsletter
You may notice a new look to the M-Newsletter, your weekly update of news and upcoming events at MCCC. To match the look and feel of the recently redesigned website, the M-Newsletter has undergone a bit of a facelift which, among other things, will make it totally compatible on hand held and mobile devices -- so no more squinting, enlarging, etc., when trying to read the news on your smart phone! In addition, the publication date of the M-Newsletter will change starting next week. Beginning Jan. 28, expect the M-Newsletter in your email inbox on Monday, instead of Friday. After soliciting feedback from the college community, it was determined that this was the preferred time to receive college news. Thanks to everyone for your input!

Haldeman Internships for Automotive Students Provide Pipeline to Jobs
The Automotive Technology program at MCCC has a great new friend in the Haldeman Auto Group. And MCCC students are benefitting. Thanks to a partnership that began last summer, qualified MCCC Automotive students are completing the program’s internship component at Haldeman’s Lexus, Ford and Subaru dealerships. Students are paid, receive tools, and earn scholarship funding. Read more here.

Latest Edition of Kelsey Review Now Available at Local Libraries and Online
Your next good read is just a page turn away! The latest edition of Kelsey Review, a literary arts journal featuring community writers published by MCCC, is now available at local libraries and online. Now in its 37th year, Kelsey Review shares the fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry and photography of artists who live or work in Mercer County. Read more here.

Feb. 1: College Catalog Updates Due: The 2019-20 College Catalog is now in production, with content review and updates being solicited college-wide. Anyone with updates to contribute should contact the point person (dean, director, supervisor, coordinator, etc.) for the area involved. Continue to Spread the Word about Free Tuition Through New State Program (CCOG). As active ambassadors for MCCC, all employees are asked to continue to spread the word to family and friends about the state's new Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG). Also consider passing this information along to churches and community organizations for their newsletters, announcements, and information racks. Hard copies of the flyer are available in the AD Executive Suite, at the Information Desk at the JKC Student Commons, and at the Admissions and Financial Aid suites in the Student Center.
