Poetry, Short Story Reading Oct. 7
If you are an aspiring author or poet, you won't want to miss the MCCC Fiction and Poetry Reading on Monday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. in SC104, sponsored by the West Windsor Learning Center. Preparing for the Modern-Day Job Interview is Topic of Distinguished Lecture Oct. 9
How to prepare mentally and verbally for any job interview while keeping your anxiety in check is the lecture topic at the college on Oct. 9. Presented by Kathi Paluscio, MCCC Professor of Communication, the effective and useful communication strategies for a job interview will be included in the lecture “Games People Play: The Modern Day Job Interview,” which will take place on Oct. 9 at noon in the Communications Building, Room CM110. Nursing Program Accreditation Public Meeting Oct. 9
MCCC will host a site review for continuing accreditation of the Nursing program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The public is invited to meet the site visit team and share comments about the program during a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 3-4 p.m. in CM107.
Mental Health Resource Fair Oct. 10
The college will host a Mental Health Resource Fair on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. On display will be the "In Their Shoes" exhibit, which seeks to increase understanding, empathy and kindness toward those struggling in silence and to encourage them to seek help. See the flyer

‘Tartuffe’ Brings Intrigue, Deception to Kelsey Stage Oct. 11-20
Lovers breaking up via cell phone, a pious hypocrite trying to bed his benefactor’s wife and a little political intrigue – all the elements of comic stage behavior – come to Kelsey Theatre in the form of “Tartuffe,” when Moliere’s updated classic tale of duplicity, seduction and outright thievery makes its American premiere as a PinnWorth Production. Aviation Program Open House on Oct. 23
Team members from Infinity Flight Group, MCCC and Piedmont/American Airlines will be on hand to answer questions about our guided pathway partnership that will take you from zero flight hours to commercial airline pilot. Interested attendees are asked to RSVP through the Infinity website

Catch Me if You Can’ Takes Off at Kelsey Theatre Oct. 25 through Nov. 3
Take a teenage runaway gushing with boyish charm and a big imagination who successfully poses as a doctor, lawyer, and airline pilot, millions of dollars in forged checks, and a cat-and-mouse game with an FBI agent, and you’ve got the musical comedy “Catch Me If You Can,” presented by The Pennington Players Oct. 25 through Nov. 3 at Kelsey Theatre. Center For Continuing Studies Announces Allied Health Info Sessions
Professional growth is well within reach at the Center for Continuing Studies, which has announced upcoming information sessions for career and technical courses this fall. CCS offers courses in the Allied Health field, including Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Home Health Aide, as well a Medical Billing and Coding class and a Phlebotomy and EKG course. Mercer County Photography Show Opens Nov. 1 - Dec. 13
Photography Professor Michael Dalton was selected to jury the 2019 Mercer County Photography show. Opening Nov. 1 and running through Dec. 13, the show is held at the Silva Gallery of Art, located on the ground floor of the Campus Center at The Pennington School at 112 West Delaware Ave., Pennington, New Jersey. MCCC Visual Arts Professor Shares Work at Gallery Opening
The work of Visual Arts Professor Lucas Kelly will be on display at the Tiger Strikes Asteroid Gallery in Philadelphia as part of the show, "You, me, these walls, our ghosts." An opening reception will be held Thursday, Oct. 10 from 6-9 p.m. and a closing reception on Nov. 9 from 6-9 p.m. See more

Two Vikings Named Region 19 Players of the Week
A pair of 2-0 weeks for Mercer County Community College’s men’s and women’s soccer teams came to a head on Oct. 1, when freshman Giuliana Pocino and Sophomore Eiichi Yamaguchi were voted National Junior College Athletic Association Region 19 Players of the week. Read More

Oct. 19-26: Women Entrepreneurship Week. Academic Affairs along with American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) will sponsor two panel discussions in honor of Women Entrerpreneurship Week, Oct. 19-26. A panel discussion will be presented on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in CM107 on the West Windsor Campus, and on Thursday, Oct. 24, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in KC229 on the James Kerney Campus. Both panel discussions will feature women entrepreneurs in Mercer County. MCCC Student Life and Leadership, the Center for Continuing Studies, Follett Bookstore, Lessing’s Dining Services, and Kelsey Theatre are providing items for door prizes for the events. There will be light refreshments after the panel discussion. See the flyer here.
Oct. 22: Holocaust Survivor Al Hepner, “Avrumele: Recollections of a Hidden Child.” The Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Center's next event for the fall semester features, Al Hepner, a Holocaust survivor. Nov. 6 Tickets on Sale for HRIM's 6th Annual Culinary Tasting Event. Supporting a good cause never tasted so good, as the MCCC Culinary/Pastry programs will once again host a tasting event featuring Central New Jersey’s finest restaurants, with proceeds to benefit student scholarships. Zumba, Yoga Classes Now Underway.
Yoga and Zumba classes for staff and students are now under way! Evening yoga continues through Dec. 9 in PE 225 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday lunchtime yoga classes continue through Dec. 11 in the gym, noon to 1 p.m. See the flyer here. Zumba classes will be held on Tuesdays, through Dec. 10, in the gym from noon to 1 p.m. See the flyer here. There will be no classes during the week of Thanksgiving break. Classes are presented through the Student Life and Leadership office.
