Ongoing Sources and Support for Student Success

Including most Fall Semester classes through December, MCCC is operating remotely, with the physical West Windsor and Trenton campuses currently closed except for limited classes and other college-sanctioned activities.

NOTICE from MCCC President to members of the Mercer County College community

In these challenging times, Mercer County Community College remains committed to student success.

We continue to serve and assist – just remotely, not from our on-campus offices. College staff is available and prepared to answer your questions, address concerns, and assist with all matters important to both current and future students.

The sources below provide immediate information as well as access to staff who can best assist with your specific needs. Even off campus, we're "here" to help!

MCCC Bookstore for the Fall 2020 semester

The West Windsor Bookstore is here to help you prepare for the Fall semester! We have a few different options to help you get the books you need in a safe and timely manner.

The IDEAL OPTION is home delivery of any course materials purchased directly from the bookstore. It is the convenience of the bookstore from the safety of your home! Please follow the link above and place your order. Orders can be placed 24 hours a day, seven days a week!

Starting Sept. 8, the store will have in-store shopping and online order pick up options available.

Store hours will be Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Students may order through the online bookstore for pickup at the store starting Sept. 8, 2020. If you wish to pick up your books directly from the bookstore, you will have to wear proper face coverings and maintain social distancing. Additional safety measures include security minimizing the number of people that are allowed onto campus, so we highly encourage you use the online bookstore and home delivery options.

Students wishing to come to campus to pick up their books directly from the bookstore will find the campus is still operating remotely. We have instituted several safety measures that anyone coming to campus must abide by. First, every student must fill out a Symptom Tracking form. This form will minimize the chances of any ill person stepping on campus, helping us all do our part to keep the campus safe for all members of our campus community.

We hope that you are remaining safe during this pandemic and we are very happy to help you move forward with your education at Mercer County Community College!

For questions or information regarding access to campus, please contact College Safety and Security at 609-586-4800 ext. 3503.

COVID-19 Safeguard Compliance -- Penalties for Violation

Failure to comply with campus signage or a verbal directive from campus personnel not limited to social distancing, wearing of a protective face mask, personal protective equipment required by the course syllabus, congregating in common areas and parking lots, a 14-day quarantine period due to exposure and/or stay at home order following a positive test, is a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.

  • 1st Violation: Student receives a written warning notice, suspended from campus access (14 days), restricted to remote access only. Student may be reinstated after the 14th day with letter of petition to have campus access.
  • 2nd Violation: Student campus access is suspended for the remainder of the semester, restricted to remote access only, up to and including suspension from all classes.
  • 3rd Violation: Student jeopardizes enrollment, up to and including suspension from classes and campus for the remainder of the academic year and/or expulsion from the college.

No refunds of tuition will be granted to students serving a suspension. Students on federal and state aid will need to be mindful of a loss of aid, and fund balances which must be paid to the college prior to reinstatement.

Additional related Student Code of Conduct violations may apply.

Participate in the 2020 United States Census

Everyone should be accounted for, and understand the importance of the 2020 Census – including MCCC students!

It is critical to fill out the 2020 Census form as soon as possible. As a citizen of the United States, it is your civic duty and affects the funding your community receives. Refer to the 2020 Census FAQ for Colleges and Universities for further details.

Microsoft 365 Education Announcement

To best support our Microsoft 365 Education customers worldwide and accommodate new growth and demand during these unprecedented times, we are making a temporary adjustment to Office document behavior within Microsoft Teams for students and teachers.

How does this affect me?
For students and teachers working with Office documents in Microsoft Teams, we are beginning to roll out a temporary change where there will be an additional step in order to edit a document. This is a change from current behavior that allows users to go straight to edit mode when clicking on a document in the "Files" tab of a channel, a conversation, or from inside an assignment.

In all cases, upon clicking on the document, users will first see the document in view mode - they will be able to see the document content, but not make changes.

In order to edit the document, users need to click on the options in the top right of the white bar above the document content and select "Open in Browser" or (for users with Office for Windows installed on their device) "Open in Desktop App". This will open the document in Office in a separate window from Teams and allow the user to make changes.

What do I need to do to prepare for this change?
No action is necessary, this change will happen automatically. We recommend notifying users proactively if possible, so that they continue to understand how to edit their Word documents in Microsoft Teams without interruption.
