ADVANCED IMAGING PROGRAM (CT & MR)

 

Attention: Registration for classes may close seven (7) days prior to the start date depending on enrollment numbers. The Center for Continuing Studies also suggests not purchasing textbooks until seven (7) days prior to the start date of a class to ensure the class is running.

ENROLLMENT

Mercer County Community College Center for Continuing Studies in cooperation with the Radiography Program is offering  Advanced Imaging Programs in Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).  The ASRT approved didactic course hours and allotted clinical experiences are designed to prepare certified radiologic technologists for the ARRT credentialing exams in CT or MR.  Continuing education credits for the programs are pending approval  for a total of 46.75 CEUs for CT and 50.25 CEUs for MR.

Deadline to submit application for review and approval in MR or CT course is August 15, 2024.  

REFUND POLICY: If it is 10 or more days before the beginning of a class, you will receive 100% refund. If it is less than 10 days before the class start date, no refunds will be provided.

All applications must be submitted to Andrea Bash, Program Coordinator, Center for Continuing Studies via email basha@mccc.edu . Applications are accepted and reviewed on a first come first serve basis for this program. Program enrollment size is limited. Additional fees may apply.

P ayment is due two weeks after application acceptance to retain your clinical seat.

MR/CT INTERN HANDBOOK
2024-2025

Magnetic Resonance (MR)

Prerequisite Requirements: Prospective interns must hold current ARRT primary certification in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, or Sonography.

Didactic: This course is offered on Monday evenings  September – January for a total of 42 hours, 54 hours for those enrolled in Option 1.  Learning includes campus and synchronous remote lectures, instructional videos, and other instructional formats.

Clinical: Students must complete all repetitions as required by the ARRT to be eligible for the credentialing exam. Students will have a six-month period in order to complete the required repetitions (September 2024 – April 2025). Interns must commit to a total of 16 hours per week for clinical education; assignments will be made based upon clinical site and intern availability. Clinical education is available during the day, evening, and Saturday hours.

Option 1: Clinical & Didactic 

     Cost: $4050

     Dates: 2 Saturdays 9/14 and 9/21, Mondays 9/23-2/10 6-8:30pm

     Clinical: September 2024-April 2025

Option 2: Didactic Only 

     Cost: $2550

     Dates:Mondays 9/23/24-2/3/25, 6-8:30pm

Computed Tomography (CT)  

Prerequisite Requirements: Prospective interns must hold current ARRT primary certification in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, or Sonography, and a current NJ Diagnostic Radiography license

Didactic: This course is offered on Saturdays September – November for a total of 42 hours, 54 hours for those enrolled in Option 1.  Learning includes campus and synchronous remote lectures, instructional videos, and other instructional formats.

Clinical: Students must complete all repetitions as required by the ARRT to be eligible for the credentialing exam. Students will have a five-month period complete the required repetitions (September 2024 – March 2025). Interns must commit to a total of 16 hours per week for clinical education; assignments will be made based upon clinical site and intern availability. Clinical education is available during the day, evening, and Saturday hours.

Option1: Clinical & Didactic 

     Cost: $4050

     Dates: Sept 14, 21, 28, Oct 12, 26, Nov 2, 9, 16, 23

     Clinical: September 2024-March 2025

Option 2: Didactic Only 

     Cost: $2550
