Toms River, NJ-Mercer softball (20-5) beat Ocean CC (0-7) 17-0 in five innings in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Sophomore Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) went 2 for 4 with a home run and 5 RBIs and sophomore Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 3 for 3 with a double 3 RBIs and 3 runs. Freshman Madison Jobes (Roebling, NJ/Florence Twp. Memorial) went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs and freshman Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) was 4 for 4 with 4 runs.
Freshman pitcher Jessica Adams (Levittown, PA/Harry S Truman) threw a one hitter and struck out seven in five innings. Sophomore Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs and freshmen Natalie Santiago (Ewing, NJ/Ewing HS) and Makenna Spak (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each had two hits and an RBI.
