Bethlehem, PA-Mercer softball (30-5) beat Northampton CC (12-5) 17-6 in six innings in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Sophomore Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 3 for 4 with 5 RBIs, a double and home run and sophomore Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had a home run and 4 RBIs. Freshman Emily Wyzykowski (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) had a home run and 3 RBIs and freshman Makenna Spak (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs.
Freshman pitcher Izzy Bonacci (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had 10 strikeouts in six innings in her 11th win of the season. Sophomore Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) went 3 for 3 with a double and freshman Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) was 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs.
