Vineland, NJ-Mercer softball beat RCSJ Cumberland (4-11) 11-6 in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Sophomore Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs, 3 runs, two doubles, and a triple. Freshman Emily Wyzykowski (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two doubles and sophomore Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had a double and two RBIs. Freshmen Angelina Guida (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Twp.) and Madison Jobes (Roebling, NJ/Florence Twp. Memorial) both went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and a double.
Freshman Makenna Spak (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added an RBI in the win and freshman pitcher Izzy Bonacci (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) picked up her tenth win of the season.
