West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball (24-5) beat Sussex CCC (2-15) in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Freshman Emily Wyzykowski (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) went 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs and sophomore Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) added 3 RBIs in the win. Freshman Madison Jobes (Roebling, NJ/Florence Twp. Memorial) had 2 RBIs and sophomore Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) and freshman Ada Kaschl (Brussels, Belgium/European School of Brussels III) and Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) each added an RBI in the Game 1 win. Freshman pitcher Izzy Bonacci (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) struck out eight in five innings for her ninth win of the season.
