Selden, NY-Mercer women’s soccer (0-1) opened the season with a 1-6 loss at Suffolk CCC (1-0). Freshman Eva Sturm (Rohrbachstrube, Germany) scored two goals and sophomore Luana Nascsmiento (Cariacica, Brazil) had an assist in the loss. Sophomore goalie Celina Oliviera (Villa Praia Ancara, Portugal/Escola Basica e Secoudario) had six saves in the Vikings season opener.
