West Windsor, NJ-Mercer women’s soccer (13-1-2) provided fans with quite a treat on Halloween, beating Sussex CCC (2-8-1) 10-0 in the Region 19 Semifinals. Freshman Eva Sturm (Berlin, NJ/Gymnasium Steglitz) and sophomore Annika Maringer (Asperg,Germany/Gymnasium IB Asperg) each had a hat trick in the win. Sturm also had three assists in addition to her three goals.
Freshman Louise Stritch (Preston Lancashire, England/Archbishop Temple) added two goals and freshman Ana Pacheco (Florianopolis, Brazil) scored a goal and had two assists in the win
Freshman Linnea Rameil (Lennestadt, Germany/Gymnasium Maria Konigin) had a goal and an assist in the semifinal win.
Freshman Mia Belton (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley)had two assists and sophomores Sarah Kircher (Celle, Germany/Hermann Billung Gymnasium) and Fiona Madigan (Dublin, Ireland/Fingal Community College) each added an assist.
With the win, the #1 seed Vikings advance to the Region 19 Championship and will take on the #2 seed Essex (5-6-1) on Saturday, November 2nd at 11:00 AM at MCCC.
