Scranton, PA-Mercer women’s basketball (14-6) fell short in the final quarter at Lackawanna (15-6) losing 73-66. Freshman Alexandra Garcia Galan (Barcelona, Spain) had a career high 33 points to lead the Vikings. Sophomore Jhava Wilson (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Central) scored nine points and freshman Zaakirah Edwards (Philadelphia, PA/Mastery Charter) had eight points. Sophomore Lia Sekhniashvili (Madrid, Spain / American School of Madrid) added seven points and nine rebounds and freshman Jayla Jones (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) added five points, eight rebounds and four steals in the loss.
The Vikings next host Bucks County CC (6-10) at 5:00 PM on Thursday, February 6th.
