Selden, NY-Mercer men’s soccer (0-0-1) battled to a 0-0- tie at Suffolk CCC in their 2024 season opener. The Vikings next travel to Nassau CC in search of their first win of the 2024 season.

Newark, NJ-Mercer men’s soccer (5-5-2) got a big Division II Region win last night as they beat Essex (3-4) 1-0 in a game played at Valisburg Park. Freshman Alou Gamby (Lansdale, PA/North Penn HS) scored the lone goal of the game off an assist from sophomore Felipe Nazario (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Fundacao Bradesco Campinas). The Vikings defense held the Wolverines to just one shot on goal.
Mercer will next take on another Division II Region opponent when they host Lackawanna (3-3) on Saturday, September 30th at 12:00 PM.

New Rochelle, NY-Mercer men’s soccer (4-5-2) lost to Monroe College (7-0) 0-3. Monroe is currently the top ranked team in NJCAA Division I soccer and won the NJCAA National Championship last season. The Vikings were limited to no shots on goal in the loss. Mercer was only down 0-1 at halftime and kept the game within a goal until the 74th minute when Monroe went up 2-0. The Mustangs scored a goal in the final minute to go ahead 3-0. Freshman goalie Federico Gainotti (Parma, Italy/Giandomenico Romagnosi) had three saves in 32 minutes in goal.
The Vikings next travel to Essex (2-2) for a game on Wednesday, September 23rd at Valisburg Park in Newark.

Westminster, MD-Mercer men’s soccer (4-4-2) reached the .500 mark for the first time this season with a 2-1 come from behind win at Carroll CC (1-5). The Vikings trailed 0-1 twenty minutes into the game but tied the game 1-1 late in the second half (77’) thanks to a goal from freshman Francesco Quintavalla (Italy/Convitto Nazionale Maria Luigia). Freshman Gamby Alou (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) scored with two minutes (88’) left in the game to give the Vikings the 2-1 win.
After starting the season 0-3-1, the Vikings have gone 4-1-1 in their last six games. Mercer will next take on the top ranked team in NJCAA Division I men’s soccer when they travel to Monroe College (5-0) for a 5:00 PM game on Friday, September 22nd.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer men’s soccer (3-4-2) played Harford (3-1-2) to a 1-1 tie. Sophomore Teddy Nkamanyi (Cologne, Germany/Gesamtschule Duisburg Mitte) scored his ninth goal of the season. Freshman goalie Federico Gainotti (Parma, Italy/Giandomenico Romagnosi) had six saves in the tie.
The Vikings next travel to Carroll CC (1-4) for a 1:00 PM game on Saturday, September 16th.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer men’s soccer (3-4-1) picked up their third win of the season with a 3-2 victory over RCSJ-Gloucester (2-2). The Vikings had three first half goals including two by sophomore Teddy Nkamanyi (Cologne, Germany/Gesamtschule Duisburg Mitte). The Roadrunners scored a late second half goal (82’) to pull within one goal but the Vikings held on for the win. Sophomore Kida Yamaguchi (Akigun, Japan/Aumori Yamada) added a goal and sophomore Naoya Obata (Nishitokyo, Japan/Austin Heights International) and freshmen Lesedi Ramosa Hlabeli (Gauteng, South Africa/Redford House Blue Hills) and Francesco Qunitavalla (Parma, Italy/Convitto Nazionale Maria Luigia) each added an assist in the win.
The Vikings have a big Region matchup Saturday, September 9th when they travel to Essex CC (0-0) for a 3:00 PM game.

North Brunswick, NJ-Mercer men’s soccer (2-4-1) picked up their second win of the season with a 5-0 victory at Middlesex CC (0-1). Freshman Lesedi Ramosa Hlabeli (Gauteng, South Africa/Redford House Blue Hills) and sophomore Teddy Nkamanyi (Cologne, Germany/Gesumtschule Duisburg Mitte) each had two goals and sophomore Kida Yamaguchi (Akigun, Japan/Aumori Yamada) added a goal in the win. The Vikings had five different players assist on their five goals. Freshmen Noah Julius Bauer (Neunkirchen, Germany/Gymnasium am Kresberg), Francesco Qunitavalla (Parma, Italy/Convitto Nazionale Maria Luigia), Danny Pirgo (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS), Brian Kmiec (Chesterfield, NJ/Notre Dame HS) and sophomore Omolemo Matla (Gauteng, South Africa/Waterstone College) each had an assist in the win. Freshman goalie Federico Gainotti (Parma, Italy/Giandomenico Romagnosi) had four saves in the shutout.
The Vikings have a quick turnaround as they host RCSJ-Gloucester (2-1) in a 5:30 PM game on Wednesday, September 6th.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer men’s soccer fell to 1-4-1 on the season following a 0-4 loss vs Raritan Valley (2-1). Raritan had three second half goals that sealed the win over Mercer.
The Vikings will look to get back in the win column when they travel to Middlesex CC for a 4:00 PM game on Tuesday, September 5th at David Crabiel Park.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer men’s soccer (1-3-1) beat Rockland CC (0-1) 11-0 to pick up their first win of the season. The Vikings had nine first half goals in the runaway win. Sophomore Felipe Nazario (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Fundacao Bradesco Campinas) led the Vikings with a hat trick and an assist and freshman Noah Julius Bauer (Neunkirchen, Germany/Gymnasium am Kresburg) added three assists in the win. Sophomores Dillon Du Toit (Johannesburg, South Africa/Waterstone College), Teddy Nkamanyi (Cologne, Germany/Gesamtschule Duisburg Mitte) and Naoya Obata (Nishitokyo, Japan/Austin Heights International) each scored two goals and sophomore Omolemo Matla (Gauteng, South Africa/Waterstone College) and freshman Lesedi Ramosa Hlabeli (Gauteng, South Africa/Redford House Blue Hills) each had two assists. Freshmen Diego Alonso Orquiz (Chihuahua, Mexico/Valle de Mexico) and Max Furrer (Freiburg, Germany/Marie-Curie Gymnasium) each scored a goal and freshman Erik Carchipulla (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) added an assist in the win.

Garden City, NY-Mercer men’s soccer (0-3-1) forced a 2-2 tie with Nassau CC (1-0-1). Sophomore Teddy Nkamanyi (Cologne, Germany/Gesamtschule Duisburg Mitte) and freshman Diego Alonso Orquiz (Chihuahua, Mexico/Valle de Mexico) each scored a goal for the Vikings. Freshman Lesedi Ramosa Hlabel (Gauteng, South Africa/Redford House Blue Hills) had two assists in the tie.
The Vikings will look for their first win of the season when they host Rockland CC (0-0) on Thursday, August 31st for a 4:00 PM game.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer men’s soccer fell to 0-3 on the season following a 3-4 loss vs Suffolk CCC (2-0) . The Sharks broke a 3-3 tie with just under three minutes left in the game to spoil the Vikings home opener. Sophomore Teddy Nkamanyi (Duisberg, Germany) had two goals and sophomore Omolemo Matla (Vereeniging, South Africa) had two assists for the Vikings. Freshman Alou Gamby (Lansdale, PA/North Penn HS) also scored a goal in the loss. Freshman goalie Federico Gainotti (Parma, Italy) had seven saves in the losing effort.
The Vikings will look for their first win of the season on Tuesday, August 29th when they travel to Nassau CC (1-0) for a 6:00 PM game.

Conshohocken, PA-Mercer men’s soccer fell to 0-2 following a 1-3 loss at Harcum (2-0). The Vikings were down 0-2 until a late first half goal by sophomore Omolemo Matla (Vereeniging, South Africa) off an assist from sophomore Teddy Nkamanyi (Duisburg, Germany) put the Vikings within one goal.
The Bears scored a late first half goal to give Harcum a 3-1 lead which remained the final score as both teams were scoreless in the second half. Freshman goalie Federico Gainotti (Parma, Italy) had six saves in the loss.
The Vikings will next play in their home opener on Saturday, August 26th vs Suffolk CCC at 12:00 PM.

Catonsville, MD-Mercer men’s soccer (0-1) opened the 2023 season with a 1-2 loss at CCBC-Catonsville. The Vikings fell behind 0-2 early in the second half before getting a late goal from freshman Max Furrer (Kirchzarten, Germany). Freshman goalie Federico Gainotti (Parma, Italy) had seven saves in the loss.
The Vikings will look for their first win of the season on Wednesday, August 23rd when they travel to Harcum for a 1:00 PM game.
