West Windsor, NJ-Mercer men’s soccer won the Region 19 Championship, edging Essex 1-0 to win the Region title for the second straight year. Freshman Deniz Karcher(Heidenheim, Germany/Max Planck Gymnasium) scored the lone goal of the game off an assist from freshman Henrique Fronza (Sao Leopoldo, Brazil/Colegio Siondal).
Head Coach Widmarc Dalce was named the Region 19 Coach of the Year. Karcher was named the Region 19 Tournament MVP.
The Vikings advance to the Northeast District Championship on Friday, November 8th. Mercer fill face Schoolcraft College, Region 12 Champions at 5:00 PM at MCCC.
