Branchburg, NJ-Mercer men’s basketball season came to an end following a 69-82 loss at top seed Raritan Valley CC (23-6) in the Region 19 Semifinals. The Vikings held a four point lead at the half, but were outscored by 17 in the second half and could not regain the lead against the Lions.
Sophomore Izaiah Johnson (Burlington, NJ/Burlington City) had an outstanding final game as a Viking, finishing with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Sophomore Justin Carbone (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) had 17 points and 6 rebounds and sophomore Jason Mark (Broward, FL/Blanche Ely HS) added 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Freshman Jayson Love (Philadelphia, PA/Academy at Palumbo) had 10 points and 6 rebounds and sophomore Isham McClain (Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton HS) added 7 points and 6 rebounds off the bench in the loss.
The Vikings made their first playoff appearance since the 2018-2019 season and finished the season 13-13.
