Mercer Falls to Essex 102-92

Newark, NJ-Mercer men’s basketball (7-12) could not hold onto a seven point lead at the half and lost at Essex CC (8-15) 102-92.  Sophomore Jayson Love (Philadelphia, PA/Academy at Palumbo) led the Vikings with 29 points along with five rebounds and four assists and freshman Drew Parrish (New York, NY/Murray Bergtraum HS) had 17 points.

Sophomore Joe Lemly (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham had a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds and freshman Torren Greene (Berlin, NJ/Paul VI) added ten points and five rebounds.  Freshmen Joell Idrovo (Hamilton, NJ/Solebury School) and Vance Lewis (Yokohama, Japan / NILE C. Kinnick HS) each had eight points in the loss.

The Vikings next travel to Lackawanna (12-12) in another big Region game at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4th.
