West Windsor, NJ-Mercer men’s basketball (5-5) dropped their third straight game, losing to Cecil College (4-8) 65-84. The Vikings led 37-32 at halftime, but had 29 turnovers and struggled with Cecil’s press in the second half. Sophomore Justin Carbone (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) led the Vikings with 19 points and 3 assists and sophomore Izaiah Johnson (Burlington, NJ/Burlington City) had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists in the loss. Sophomore Kristian Smith (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) added 11 points and sophomore Isham McClain (Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton HS) had 9 points in the losing effort.
The Vikings will look to get back on the winning track over the weekend when they host SUNY Ulster (3-5) on Saturday, December 16th at 12:00 PM and Niagara CCC (9-5) on Sunday, December 17th at 12:00 PM.
