Mercer Baseball Wins Region 19 Championship

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer baseball rallied from being down 0-7 vs Lackawanna in the Region 19 Championship to come back and win 10-8.  Sophomore Wyatt Baker (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) went 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs and freshman Jake Pope (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs.  Freshman Shane Hickey (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) added 2 RBIs in the win.

 

Sophomore pitcher Dyllon King (Old Saybrook, CT/Cheshire Academy) had six strikeouts in five innings and freshman pitcher Connor Parsons (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) had two strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched.  Sophomore reliever Ryan Conover (Hamilton, NJ/Notre Dame) got his fourth win of the season, allowing just one hit and no earned runs in 1.2 innings pitched.

 

Sophomores Andrew Glatt (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown), Joe Gmitter (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Torin McKenzie (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) each added an RBI in the win.

 

The Vikings advance to the East District Championship and will take on Westchester CC on Friday, May 17th at 1:00 PM at Sullivan CC.
