West Windsor, NJ-Mercer baseball (33-21) advanced to the Region 19 Championship following a 4-2 win vs Lackawanna (30-22) in the Semifinals. Sophomore Torin McKenzie (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI and sophomore Wyatt Baker (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI. Sophomore pitcher Ryan Conover (Hamilton, NJ/Notre Dame) allowed just one hit and no earned runs over 2.1 innings pitched in his eighth save of the season.
Freshman pitcher Collin Williams (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) moved to 4-0 on the season. Freshman Slade Harrill (New Egypt, NJ/Allentown HS) went 2 for 4 with an RBI and sophomore Andrew Glatt (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) added an RBI in the win.
The Vikings will again face Lackawanna (31-22) in the double elimination tournament, Sunday at 11:00 AM. If the Vikings win, they advance to the District Championship. Lackawanna must win two games to advance to the District Championship.
