Myrtle Beach, SC-Mercer baseball lost their first game at the Ripken Experience 5-3 vs Rochester Tech. Freshman Ryan Kochie (Wrightstown, NJ/Nortern Burlington) went 3 for 3 with a double and RBI and freshman Shaniel Maldonado (Trenton, NJ/St. Benedict’s Prep) went 1 for 2 with an RBI and sophomore Jake Pope (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had an RBI. Freshman pitcher Anthony Kownacki (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Regional) had three strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched and sophomore Matteo Mannino (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) had four strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched.
